Getting Your Numbers


Matrix changes to 5/69 and 1/26 as of October 7, 2015.


Powerball is played in Washington, D.C., the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and the following States. The States are: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Pick up a ticket at any lottery retailer in the above and select FIVE white numbers from 1 to 69 and ONE red Powerball number from 1 to 26.

If you don't want to pick your own numbers, you can have the terminal computer (Quick Pick) choose your numbers.

Tickets cost $2 for each 6 number combination

You can increase your winnings for an EXTRA $1 PER GAME by Playing the Power Play, which increases winnings other than the Jackpot. The Match 5+0 with the Power Play is worth up to $2,000,000.


The Draw


Every Wednesday and Saturday evening around 11:00 pm Eastern Time, FIVE white numbers plus ONE POWERBALL red number are drawn.

Check with your State to see when your ticket(s) expire. It should also be printed on the back of the ticket.


Jackpots


Jackpots start at $40 Million and are carried over if there are no winners.

If there is more than ONE winner, then the Jackpot is shared among all winners.

You have the option of taking the Jackpot in a lump-sum or by an annuity.

The chances of winning the Jackpot are 1:292,201,338.00.
